The activities in brief:
1. Tai Chi
Description: Tai Chi, known in China for centuries to be effective
for arthritis, it is presented as a gentle and relaxing exercise program.
Tai Chi is simple to follow and easy to learn. It also allows you to set
your own pace and level. You will learn how to relieve arthritic pain
as you tune your body to greater mobility through the power of Tai Chi.
Gentle Exercise sheets are give to everyone to enjoy exercises with the
aide of a chair if required, within their own home.
2. Aqua Arthritis
Description: Aqua Arthritis is conducted in a Hydro Pool, which
is heated to 32-34 degrees Celsius. The reason for the water being at
this temperature is to enable the joints to move more freely, thus the
warm water does not put any pressure on the body and joints. Aqua Arthritis
is a gentle water exercise program to increase your mobility and fitness.
The water exercises are performed with various equipment such as: Dumb
bells, Toggles (or Noodles) Kick Boards, Balls etc. This form of exercise
is also a great deal of fun. After Aqua Arthritis the group then relaxes
in a warm enjoyable spa.
3. Line Dancing
Description: Leaning various dance movements to music. It allows
you to improve your movement and well as co-ordination. It is recommended
for people of all ages and will definitely increase your laughter and
happiness. Dance Sheets and Music Provided.
The Elders had not participated in any of these activities and were eager
to get into an active role.

KWMB indicated that a second program in Swan Hill or Echuca would also
be considered. But due to local community advice this did not eventuate
in the other regions. KWMB board agreed that we would maintain the presence
with the pilot group was based on the outcomes so far.
The OOWB challenges were transportation on the program a fee for service
arrangement with the local co-operative worked to accommodate this. Costs
associated with running a program outside of OOWB and out of the elders
purse would never be attempted due largely to a lack of finances.
